SMA: Teaching Full Circle

SMA: Teaching Full Circle

Stella Maris Academy of Malolos Inc. strongly believes in placing the learner at the center of education. As a learning institution, we mentor our teachers to fully understand our students’ diverse intelligences and learning needs.

We totally subscribe to Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence, which clearly states that the concept of a learner’s intelligence goes beyond linguistic and mathematical intelligence and that it is exhibited in many ways. It can be developed and it can be measured, not by numbers alone but in the context of real-life situations.

understanding that our learners possess multiple intelligences

Most importantly, SMA believes that our learners’ intelligence is used to understand capabilities and the many different ways in which they can achieve them.

We understand that our learners possess multiple intelligences with two or more intelligences more dominant or more developed than others.

We refrain totally from teaching in the same way throughout the year because we believe that this is not an act of serving and developing our learners with multiple intelligences.

SMA has always rallied behind this educational advocacy of Prof. Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory since SY: 2004-2005 up to the present.

incorporating activities for multiple intelligences

From then on, we have planned and organized our instruction by incorporating activities that teach to the strengths of a wide range of intelligences among our learners.

As we have stated in our Mission Statement, SMA dedicates itself to nurture and develop its learners according to the Multiple Intelligence Theory of Howard Gardner thus…we humbly declare that we teach full circle as illustrated:
