The celebration of Buwan ng Wika promotes the importance of Filipino as our national language and celebrates its richness through presentations of Sabayang Pagbikas, Balagtasan, and Spoken Word Poetry.

Our Halloween Party is a fun-filled celebration where students dress up in creative costumes, participate in themed activities, and enjoy exciting games and performances. This event blends creativity, cultural awareness, and remembrance, as students are encouraged to dress as characters from Filipino folklore and mythology, celebrating our heritage while honoring our departed loved ones. While the Filipino theme is encouraged, students are free to express themselves through costumes of their choice, promoting individuality. We also emphasize sustainability by encouraging the use of recycled materials in costume creation, reflecting our commitment to creativity and environmental responsibility.

The Big Day is one of the major events at SMA held every December, bringing the entire school community together to celebrate the wonderful spirit of the Christmas season. During this exciting occasion, students showcase their talents through various presentations, which are the result of thorough preparation. This includes composing scripts, rehearsing performances, and perfecting songs, speeches, dances, and acts. The process is an essential part of their holistic development, where students gain confidence, collaborate with others, and enhance their creativity. It’s a celebration that encourages teamwork, self-expression, and growth, allowing every SMAer to shine like stars in front of their families and peers.

Foundation Week at SMA, celebrated every February, is a celebration of our school’s legacy and commitment to excellence. Each year, we come together to honor the vision of SMA and express our gratitude for the opportunity to nurture the holistic development of every learner. During this week, various events showcase the multiple intelligences of our students, including athletic contests like cheerdance, basketball, volleyball, and sports olympics, as well as cultural events like the speech festival and poster-making and singing competitions. Additionally, workshops and bazaars led by our students, clubs, alumni, and parents provide opportunities for hands-on learning and community engagement. These activities promote 21st-century skills, cultural appreciation, and excellence in multiple areas while fostering positive values, creativity, and community spirit among all SMAers.

The holiday season at SMA is a time of joy, giving, and togetherness. Our Christmas Party is a much-anticipated event that brings students, faculty, and staff together to celebrate the spirit of the season through festive performances, gift-giving, and fun-filled activities. For Junior High School, the celebration features exciting competitions and special presentations that foster school spirit, creativity, and camaraderie. These events provide students with an opportunity to share their talents while embracing the holiday spirit. More than just a celebration, this gathering strengthens bonds within our school community, making the season even more meaningful and memorable for everyone.

Moving Up and Completion/Graduation Rites at SMA are momentous occasions that mark the culmination of our students’ hard work, growth, and achievements. These ceremonies celebrate their journey, recognizing their perseverance, talents, and readiness for the next chapter of their academic life. Moving Up honors our young learners as they transition to the next level, while Graduation is a proud milestone for our completers, signifying their preparedness for new challenges ahead. These events are not only a tribute to academic success but also to the values, skills, and friendships our students have built throughout their time at SMA. With inspiring messages, special performances, and heartfelt moments, Moving Up and Completion/Graduation are cherished celebrations of welcoming every SMAer’s bright future.

Throughout the year, SMA students engage in a variety of academic and extracurricular activities that foster holistic development and community involvement. These include competitions, leadership training, outreach programs, and district-and-division-wide events.

Yearly, SMA students actively participate in the MACIPRISA Athletic, Cultural, and Academic Competitions, a prestigious event among private schools in Malolos. Our learners showcase their talents in sports, cultural events such as declamation, tula, oration, and in academic quiz bees. Through these contests, students demonstrate their multiple intelligences, earning recognition and proudly representing SMA with pride and excellence.

SMA students also excel in the Schools Press Conference, a multi-level competition involving both public and private schools. The competition begins at the district level and progresses through the division, regional, and national stages. SMA students showcase their skills in journalism, including news writing, editorial writing, column writing, science writing, editorial cartooning, broadcasting, and many others, demonstrating their communication and critical thinking abilities as they compete in various levels.

At Stella Maris Academy (SMA), we believe in the power of cultural exchange to broaden perspectives and foster global connections. Due to our strong English Immersion program, we are proud to host students and teachers from schools abroad. These exchanges provide a unique opportunity for our students to share Filipino traditions while learning about the cultures of our international guests.

For example, we have welcomed schools from Thailand and Japan, where our students showcased Filipino values, traditional dances, and cuisine. In return, we had the chance to engage in discussions and witness firsthand their music, arts, and cultural practices. It’s a wonderful experience for our learners, as they not only see these traditions live but also gain a deeper understanding of global diversity. These exchanges help our students embrace their Filipino heritage while fostering global citizenship and respect for other cultures.

For example, students have traveled to Thailand for cultural exchanges, where they immerse themselves in local traditions, arts, and history. Through these trips, students not only gain knowledge but also enhance their 21st-century skills, including communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. At the same time, they strengthen their Filipino identity and cultural pride. Participation details for each trip are communicated in advance to parents and students, ensuring a safe, well-organized, and enriching experience.
