SMA Learners: Bright, Bold, and Brilliant!

We are strongly committed to developing the multiple intelligences of all SMAers. We believe that our students’ multiple intelligences can be further nurtured through the meaningful learning experiences we provide—not only during regular classes, where we integrate Multiple Intelligences (M.I.) teaching strategies into our daily instruction, but also through carefully planned M.I. programs beyond the classroom.
Every Friday, students participate in M.I. Classes, where they engage in various activities designed to help them explore and develop all aspects of multiple intelligences. These classes bring together learners from different sections, allowing them to interact, collaborate, and build connections with other learners apart from their regular classmates.
SMA offers Stellar Clubs—exclusive, membership-based organizations designed to take learning beyond the classroom. These clubs, held in the afternoons as an exciting extension of the school day, provide students with enriching experiences to further hone their skills and potentials in specific areas of intelligence. Through the Stellar Clubs, students explore and develop their abilities in a wide range of fields, from the arts and music to sports and writing. Each club is designed to foster growth in one or more of the multiple intelligences, giving students the opportunity to expand their talents and engage with like-minded peers.
The Speak-Up Club nurtures students’ Verbal-Linguistic Intelligence by enhancing their ability to communicate confidently and effectively. Through engaging activities such as debates, speech recitals, poetry festivals, and impromptu speaking challenges, members refine their public speaking, articulation, and critical thinking skills. With opportunities for constructive feedback and peer collaboration, the club empowers learners to express themselves with clarity and confidence—essential skills for both personal growth and future success.
SMA Chorale fosters students’ Musical Intelligence by developing their vocal skills, sense of harmony, and ability to perform as part of a choir. Members engage in vocal training, choral exercises, and stage performances that enhance their confidence and musical expression. Through weekly rehearsals, they prepare for special events, allowing them to showcase their talent while experiencing the joy of exploring music together.
SIKHAY is an art club dedicated to fostering creativity in a vibrant, collaborative environment. The club offers a space where students can explore both traditional and modern art forms, including photography, pottery, digital arts, and more. Members engage in creative activities, learn new techniques, and grow together as artists. SIKHAY encourages collaboration and support, allowing members to express their creativity freely and build connections with fellow artists. Through its activities, SIKHAY enhances visual-spatial intelligence, helping students develop a deeper understanding of visual elements and spatial relationships in art.
Sinag Tala provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talents in acting, singing, and dancing. Through engaging workshops, members develop their skills in portraying characters, emotions, and ideas, utilizing Bodily-Kinesthetic, Verbal-Linguistic, and Musical Intelligence during performances. The guild also offers seminar-workshops to help members enhance their skills in the performing arts, particularly in theater. Through these activities, members build their confidence, improve self-expression, and gain the courage to perform in front of an audience during major school events.
Starlight Club is an organization that develops young campus journalists and writers by honing their skills in writing articles, literary pieces, capturing photos of school events, illustrating editorial cartoons, and layouting for the school paper, Starlight. Members engage in various activities that enhance their journalistic and literary abilities, with their work being featured in the school paper. The club also organizes journalism and literary workshops for fellow SMA learners to inspire them to explore different writing styles and foster a love for writing. Throughout these activities, members develop their Verbal-Linguistic Intelligence, Visual-Spatial Intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Intelligences.
SigLakas encourages students to engage in physical activities that promote fitness, health, and an active lifestyle. Members explore various sports such as badminton, volleyball, basketball, archery, and more, while also participating in activities like Laro ng Lahi, Zumba, yoga, and meditation. The club provides opportunities for students to enhance their physical well-being and develop healthy habits. While engaging in these activities, members practice journaling and reflection to monitor their progress, helping them stay focused on their fitness goals. Through these experiences, members develop Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, thus, improving their strength, coordination, and overall health.
Altogether, our M.I. programs create a well-rounded domain where students can nurture their individual talents, develop key skills, and gain valuable experiences that prepare them for success in both school and life beyond the classroom.
